AIDA Bistro & Wine Bar in Columbia has been a favorite of ours for a few years now.  They regularly change-up their menus based on local seasonal availability, and their nouveau Italian cuisine is top-notch.  As if that weren’t enough, they have Wines on Tap.  Yes, you heard that right.  That means you can taste many different kinds of wine in one visit.  We’ve been known to order a flight ($9) or two to share.  AIDA’s Happy Hour (HH) runs Monday through Friday from 3-7 PM.

On our last visit, I had a late lunch so I wasn’t looking for a full meal.  Thankfully, their grilled lime cilantro chicken wings were just enough.  Nice combination of flavors, meaty wings, and perfectly prepared.  We also ordered their peppery fried calamari, three cheese flatbread, and eggplant parmigiana sliders to share.  All were super tasty selections and generously sized.  Plenty of food for two people!  I didn’t think I was going to eat that much, but I couldn’t help myself.  We also couldn’t help ordering dessert.  They had some great house-made options.  Thumbs up on their cannolis.  I can also recommend their charcuterie, arancini risotto balls, and the rock shrimp appetizers, based on previous visits.

As for wine, we can always find something interesting on tap.  This time, I tried a Pinot noir and a Riesling; my husband went for the red blends.  Can’t make up your mind?  Order a flight of 3 or 4 tasting glasses. (see picture above from a previous visit)

The weather was nice on the day we went, so we sat outside on their lovely patio and watched the sun set over Columbia Gateway Drive.  Otherwise, their bar space indoors is warm and inviting.  Love the wall of wine taps behind the bar.  Service is informative, attentive and consistent.
