Case Study: Facebook Contest  for Jack Lehr

In August 2024, the FWC team executed a campaign for Jack Lehr Heating Cooling & Electric’s Annual Cutest Dog Contest. The goal of the campaign was to increase engagement on their Facebook page.

We collaborated closely with our client to develop a strategy that involved the community and delighted their customers. We achieved just that and had the honor of promoting the Cutest Dog Contest winner, Cocopuff, on social media!

To increase engagement on our client’s Facebook page, we ran a campaign for about two weeks using both paid and organic content. After reviewing the results, we summarized the key metrics we had chosen at the beginning of the campaign.

Upon analyzing these outcomes, we attribute the success to three key tactics:

Community Involvement
Did you know that engaging with your community online can lead to more engagement overall? By partnering with local businesses and being active in your community, you can see a significant increase on social media; especially for a bricks & mortar (physical location) business! This approach builds trust within your local area and enhances your brand image. For the Facebook contest, our client partnered with a local animal shelter, Animals in Distress. Jack Lehr Heating Cooling & Electric is very passionate about pets and rescues—they even have an office dog! By showcasing this value and tapping into a popular interest, they differentiate themselves from competitors and humanize their brand.

Annual Contest
This is our third year hosting the contest, and each year we gain valuable insights from the data it generates. This information allows us to analyze and refine our strategy for even better results. Additionally, running the annual contest encourages repeat submissions, and the community begins to anticipate the event.

Paid Content
We will be the first to tell you that social media marketing is not free! While the platforms themselves do not charge for use, investing in paid social media marketing is essential for better results. Whether you are handling your social media marketing efforts yourself or investing in done-for-you services, allocating a budget for ads on social media is a must to increase visibility and attract new followers.

We are excited to continue running the annual Facebook contest for our client and to keep seeing all the adorable dog pictures submitted!

Are you planning your next campaign? Do you want to add a fun element, like a cute dog photo contest, to humanize your brand but aren’t sure where to start? We can help you brainstorm ideas and run the campaign!
